China leaves India trailing in research

Jacob Koshy should have been aware that science writer Subbiah Arunachalam has been writing on this topic since 2002 when he first raised the issue of China's advance in the journal Current Science, all of which were published well before the report by Mr Gupta. It is a pity that journalists do not check local journals, especially given that CS is very popular. geoff maslen
