the 3000 farmers who switched to organic farming are farsighted.with fertilizer shortage and rising energy costs there is no other option.if a fraction of the subsidy now going to petro based fertiliser is diverted to organic farming it will help.we have done organic farming for many years now.certainly the profitability is better due to healthier soil,negligable loss due to disease,sustained good crop and low input costs.you can see some pics at www.khandigeorganic .com
