Talent crunch spoils product design party

i dont know where is this idea coming from. i passed out of industrial design course @iit and i know that placements are'nt all that booming ....we had lots of friends in iit who didnt get job offers despite good work....if industry needs so many designers why are'nt they hiring.also one needs to reflect the kind of work a designer is doing in industry....most of it is outsourced sweat meat cadding stuff...not design....and the myth that designers are overpaid needs to be reflected @. when a marketing MBA who collaborates with agencies and claims to understand market is paid 10 lpa, a designer..who understands user needs market spreads ...technology aesthetics and usability...who can make and sell something and do it well...be paid any lesser...i think there are enough talented designers who do not have work of their calibre or no work at all...let us not celebrate a lousy situation
