The car…and the planner
A focus on universal automobile ownership and its potential in transforming urban India is essential today

I live in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. People here own two to three cars per household. The parking problem grows each day as residents buy larger and larger cars to reflect their perceived status. Fights and disagreements on parking are common, tempers can run very high! I fear one day it may end in tragedy. Indeed, the short-sighted planners provided only scooter garages and few parking space. I really don't know what the answer to this current problem local is. It's a disaster waiting to happen.
