Mumbai: Even as competitors, both from within the family and outside, ramp up their business to challenge Bisleri’s leadership in the mineral-water market, Ramesh Chauhan seems unperturbed.
The founder and chairman of Bisleri International Pvt. Ltd is in the process of evolving a marketing strategy for his next innovation—enhanced water. Chauhan will aim to offer mineral and protein-added, packaged water in different flavours.
“The product will hit the markets by October and initially will be available in two different sizes,” Chauhan said in an interview.
Last month, Parle Agro Pvt. Ltd joint managing director Nadia Chauhan said that its product Bailey’s had acquired a 30% market share. However, her uncle, Ramesh Chauhan, still doesn’t consider Bailey’s as competition. “There are no four major brands but only three—Bisleri, Aquafina and Kinley. All these brands have been growing aggressively. Bisleri (market share) still stands at 60%,” Chauhan said.
