Mumbai: Private lender Axis Bank Wednesday reported 66.20% increase in net profit at Rs 306.83 crore for the quarter ended 31 December, 2007 as compared to Rs 184.61 crore for the same quarter in the previous fiscal.
Total income increased 58.54% to Rs 2,290.24 crore for the quarter ended 31 December, 2007 from Rs 1,444.55 crore for the corresponding quarter a year ago, Axis Bank informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Shares of Axis Bank were trading at Rs 1,098.10, up 2.76% on the BSE in afternoon trade.
The Bank also said it has appointed K.N. Prithviraj on its Board of Directors with immediate effect. Prithviraj is the nominee of the administrator of the Specified Undertaking of the Unit Trust of India.
