Mumbai: IT education solutions provider Educomp Solutions on Monday said it has appointed Grant Thornton as the internal auditor for the current financial year.
In a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange, the company said that it has appointed Grant Thornton as internal auditor of the company for the financial year 2009-10.
Last month, there were reports that Educomp had allegedly fudged turnover figures and promoters of the company had been trading in their own shares and in unquoted subsidiaries.
However, the company rejected such reports.
Earlier this month, it had said it would work with the government and regulators to reinstate credibility in the firm.
“We are actively working on a slew of initiatives to further enhance Educomp’s corporate governance, transparency and disclosure standards,” Educomp had said.
As of December quarter promoters held 55.03% in Educomp.
Shares of Educomp were trading at Rs2,096.25, down 0.05% in the afternoon trade on the BSE.
