Aurobindo receives FDA nod for 2 drugs

Mumbai: Aurobindo Pharma Ltd, on16 June received US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approvals for its Cefpodoxime proxetil tablets and Trandolapril tablets in multiple strengths. FDA approval for antibiotic Cefpodoxime proxetil tablets is for strengths of 100mg and 200mg. For Trandolapril tablets, a hypertension drug, the nod is for strengths of 1mg, 2mg and 4mg. With approval for Cefpodoxime, the total cephalosporin approval count for the company has reached seven. “Aurobindo has consolidated itself further in cephalosporin market," the company said in a communique to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
