New Delhi: Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd reported second-quarter profit more than doubled.
Net income rose to Rs513crore in the three months ended 30 September, from Rs219 crore a year earlier, the Mumbai-based drug maker said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange on Saturday.
Bharat Forge net drops 95% due to forex losses
New Delhi:Bharat Forge Ltd reported second-quarter profit fell 95% after it compensated a customer for failing to deliver products on time and due to foreign exchange-related losses.
Net income fell to Rs4.14 crore from Rs79.13 crore a year earlier, the Pune-based company said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange. Sales increased 29% to Rs1,360 crore from Rs1,060 crore.
The company paid Rs24 crore as damages to a client after a unit failed to supply products because of a breakdown at a factory, the company said.
Bharat Forge has filed a claim with its insurance company for business interruption and material damages of Rs32.9crore, it said.
The company reported a foreign exchange loss of Rs87.5 crore in the second quarter because of so-called translation losses on its foreign currency convertible bonds following the adverse movement of the rupee against the dollar.
United Breweries net profit falls 7.5% in Q2
New Delhi:United Breweries Holdings Ltd, controlled by Vijay Mallya, reported its second quarter profit fell 7.5%.
Net income declined to Rs15.36 crore in the three months ended 30 September from Rs16.6 crore a year earlier, the Bangalore-based company said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange on Saturday.
Sales rose 11% to Rs90.39 crore in the quarter from Rs81.44 crore, the company said.
