Pune: Suzlon Energy Ltd, the world’s fifth largest wind turbine maker with 10.5% of global market share, has appointed Sumant Sinha as its chief operating officer effective 1 August 2008.
A press release issued by Suzlon says Sinha brings with him invaluable experience and knowledge from years spent in leadership roles in multinational corporations. Most recently, he set up and had been the CEO of Aditya Birla Retail. Prior to that held the position of Group CFO for the Aditya Birla Group.
Sinha also has several years of experience in international finance and has worked with Citicorp Securities in New York and London, and ING Barings in New York.
