European customers postpone orders: Suzlon

New Delhi/London: Suzlon Energy Ltd, India’s largest wind-turbine maker, said some customers in Europe are postponing orders as the debt crisis makes it difficult to raise funds for renewable-energy projects.

A lot of projects are being deferred, chairman Tulsi Tanti said in an interview with Bloomberg TV in Brussels on Tuesday.

Small and medium customers are heavily affected by the financial crisis, he said, without naming companies.

Huawei, ZTE likely to meet Pillai today

New Delhi: Top executives from ZTE Corp. and Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd, the two biggest Chinese telecom equipment makers blocked from selling their equipment in India, are likely to meet home secretary G.K. Pillai on Thursday after their scheduled Wednesday meeting had to be postponed.

“Pillai is in Manipur and would return late Wednesday. It is most likely that he would meet Chinese telecom firms," a ministry official said on condition of anonymity.

The two firms have begun a number of initiatives to allay Indian authorities’ security concerns and have also said they are planning to build manufacturing facilities in India.
