Kuala lumpur: Bharat Petroleum Corp plans to add 60,000 bpd in capacity to its 120,000 bpd Bina refinery, Bharat chief executive R.K. Singh told reporters on Sunday.
The company also planned to build a cracking unit at its Kochi refinery, he said. The company would spend Rs 18, 000 crore in total on the expansion, he said ahead of an industry event in Malaysia.
India’s diesel demand would grow by around 8-10% this year, but the country should avoid the need to import the fuel if all refineries run withouth glitches, he said.
