Coca Cola, Commonwealth Games ink pact

New Delhi: Beverage giant Coca Cola India Inc has come on board the Commonwealth Games 2010 as the official beverage partner, announced Suresh Kalmadi, organizing committee chairman and Atul Singh, chief executive and president Coca Cola India in Delhi on Wednesday.
The company’s products will be exclusively available to spectators at the stadium and served to the athletes, team officials and volunteers during Games.
“Commonwealth Games 2010 without doubt is one of the biggest sporting events to be organized in India,” said Singh in a press release. “Organizing such international sporting events goes a long way in creating a sporting culture in the country.”
Added Kalmadi, “We are confident about delivering a Games that India will be proud of. Coca-Cola India’s coming on board with the XIX Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi is thus a logical move and the tie-up will benefit all stakeholders.”
