New Delhi: While the first day of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week here was a reflection of the dark global mood with its sombre collections, flamboyance and colour ruled the roost on the second day of the fashion gala here.
The day began with designer duo Pankaj and Nidhis collection that brought together opulent fabrics and bright colours in a combination that imbibed soft femininity with bold statements.

The show which was attended by designers Ritu Kumar and Rohit Bal was high on wearability despite its overtly flamboyant tones.
“The collection is so colourful because it is all about hope and recovery in a world that is bogged down by despair and crises of all sorts, so the message going out is that of hope and happiness,” said Pankaj.
The happy exuberance, however was replaced with competitive violence in the next show by designer Prashant Verma. Titled “Meat”, a collection inspired by “body builders and dictators” which took power dressing to the next level with its exaggerated shoulder pads and statement belts.
The show which was high on drama, saw models like Tinu Vergheese and Joey Matthews walking the ramp to the tunes of a military band.
