Mumbai: Cairn India Ltd, the Indian subsidiary of Scottish firm Cairn Energy Plc, Monday announced a net loss of Rs24.54 crore for the year ended 31 December, 2007, as against a net loss of Rs21.17 crore in the corresponding period in 2006.
The income of the firm rose to Rs1,144.67 crore in the year ended December 2007, from Rs44.96 crore in the year ago period, the company said in a communique to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Cairn Energy incorporated Cairn India in August 2006. Hence, the figures of 2007 are not comparable with that of the 2006, the company added.
Cairn India announced a standalone net loss of Rs78.82 crore for the year ended 31 December, 2007, as against a net loss of Rs29.22 crore in the corresponding period last year.
The standalone income of the firm rose to Rs33.96 crore in the year ended December 2007, from Rs5.91 crore in the year ago period.
Shares of the firm were trading at Rs217.95, down 5.28% in the early morning trade on the BSE.
