New Delhi: The hybrid Civic, scheduled for an India launch in mid June, will have many firsts to its credit. It will be the first such car to be available in India.“Though we wish to sell very few units, we want our customers to experience this technology,” said Masahiro Takedagawa, CEO of Honda Siel.
Sources say the half-electric, half-gasoline Civic hybrid will be imported as a completely built unit and will be priced at Rs20 lakh.
The car will switch between the two engines as and when required to save fuel. The company earlier rolled out its eighth generation Accord, eight months after the global launch of the car.
The car will switch between the two engines as and when it is required to save fuel. The car will be available in three variants -- Accord 2.4, Accord 2.4 Elegance and Accord 2.4 Inspire, priced at Rs16.49 lakh, Rs16.79 lakh and Rs17.39 lakh, respectively, for manual transmission while the automatic transmission of the variants are priced between Rs17.24 lakh and Rs18.14 lakh.
Car buyers have yet another reason to hold on to their car buying decisions and wait till June rolls over.
