Mumbai: Public sector lender Allahabad Bank Monday said its net profit for the December quarter grew by 1% to Rs369.46 crore over the corresponding period a year ago.
The bank had a net profit of Rs365.05 crore in the December quarter last fiscal, Allahabad Bank said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The total income rose to Rs2,306.44 crore for the quarter under review from Rs1,956.41 crore in the same quarter in 2008.
While, for the nine-month period ended 31 December 2008, Allahabad Bank registered a net profit of Rs504.51 crore, a decline of 37.43% over the same period last year. It had a net profit of Rs805.23 crore in the same period of FY’08.
Total income for the nine-month period rose to Rs6,133.27 crore compared with Rs5,155.80 crore last fiscal.
Allahabad Bank surged 4.44% from its previous close and was trading at Rs54.15 crore in late afternoon trade on the BSE.
