Dubai: With an eye on the booming civil aviation sector in India, a four-day airshow is being held in Hyderabad next year.
Indian Aviation 2008, which begins on 15 October, is being jointly organised by the Civil Aviation Ministry and FICCI.
“The booming Indian aviation sector offers tremendous opportunities for aviation companies to do business in India and also the most powerful event organising set up. It is the only event on the civil aviation sector in India, to be held in an airport," said Rajan Kohli, Deputy Secretary General of FICCI.
The exhibition will display aircraft, aircraft machinery and equipment, aircraft interiors, airlines, airline services and air cargo and airport infrastructure developers, said Arun Mishra, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation.
Mishra has met the organizers and participants at the Airshow here in order to get first hand information about the event.
With air travel becoming a popular and cheaper option, the civil aviation sector is experiencing fast growth. During 2006-07, total passenger traffic grew at 27.2% while the cargo traffic grew by 11.2%.
Aircraft movement increased by 27.5% during the year. The domestic air traffic is expected to grow upto 180 million and international traffic to 50 million passengers by 2020.
