New Delhi:In its bid to become a national player, fast-food restaurant chain Nirula’s will set up 150 new outlets across India by 2009, for 100 crore.

“We want to be a national brand in next two-three years with around 200 outlets spread across India and invest 100 crore for opening new outlets besides the existing 52," Sudipta Sen Gupta, senior vice president, marketing and sales told PTI.

Nirula’s, which is currently present in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Harayana and Punjab, aims to venture into the western Indian market, followed by south and east, she said.

“Our Mumbai entry would be announced by January next year and then Gujarat, followed by other parts of the country," she added.

Currently, the fast-food chain has two hotels, three bars, four casual dining restaurants ‘called Potpourri´ and other restaurants under its brand name ‘Nirula’s.

As a part of the corporate social responsibility, the restaurant chain also announced a long-term partnership with Delhi-based NGO Khushii to support its education programme for underprivileged children. They have committed 5 lakh annually as donation towards the cause.

“The partnership would enable us to support the ‘Shikshaantra´ education programme run by the NGO," informed Samir Kuckreja, CEO and marketing director.

Nirula’s would raise funds for the grant by organizing art auctions, placing donation boxes at its 52 outlets across five states in North India and using proceeds from sales of select items.
