Emami Q3 net down 2.8% to Rs36.76 cr
PremiumMumbai: Consumer goods major Emami Ltd on Wednesday said its consolidated profit after tax has declined 2.80% at Rs36.76 crore in the third quarter (Q3) ended 31 December 2008.
The company had a consolidated net profit of Rs37.82 crore in the same quarter last fiscal, Emami Ltd said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The consolidated operating income rose to Rs280.63 crore for the quarter under review, from Rs195.47 crore for the December quarter of FY 08.
For the nine months ended 31 December 2008, its consolidated net profit jumped to Rs74.02 crore from Rs57.02 crore for the same period last year.
The consolidated operating income for the nine-month period increased to Rs609.86 crore from Rs405.45 crore in the same period a year ago.
Emami’s standalone net profit dropped to Rs28.62 crore in the December quarter 2008 from Rs37.35 crore in the same period last fiscal.
The standalone operating income increased to Rs221.40 crore during the third quarter in review from Rs194.20 crore in December quarter of 2007.
For the nine months ended 31 December 2008, the firm’s standalone PAT declined to Rs51.84 crore from Rs57.80 crore for the same period FY 08.
The standalone operating income for the nine-month period in review rose to Rs466.28 crore from Rs402.74 crore in the same period year-ago.
Shares of the company closed at Rs201.50, down 4.34% on the BSE.
