Infighting marks TMB’s annual general meet
Kochi: Infighting marked back-to-back annual general meetings (AGM) of the Nadar community-controlled Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Ltd that were held at Tuticorin on Wednesday, following the cancellation of its AGM last year.
The battle over six vacant board seats will be decided on Thursday after the votes are counted. At total of 18 contestants from the two factions led by brothers Sivanti and B. Ramachandran Adityan are in the fray.
Adityan told ‘Mint’ that the move to put up candidates was to ensure that Nadars got a say in the bank’s affairs. G Nagamal Reddy, managing director and chief executive of the bank, said election results would be announced early on Thursday.
