Yes Bank case: Bombay high court adjourns hearing to 29 April
Both the sides requested the hearing to be postponed from Tuesday to 29 April after the bank's board meets on 23 April
Mumbai: The Bombay high court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing in a dispute over the right to nominate directors to the board of Yes Bank Ltd to 29 April after a request from both sides.
Ravi Kadam appearing for Yes Bank, Darius Khambatta appearing for Madhu Kapur, the plaintiff, and Soli Cooper appearing for Yes Bank directors asked for the hearing to be postponed from Tuesday to 29 April after the bank’s board meets on 23 April.
The board is slated to meet to consider Yes Bank’s fiscal 2013-14 results.
In the last hearing earlier this month, a two-judge bench asked both the litigants to consider an out-of-court settlement.
The latest adjournment gives both parties enough time to consider a settlement and also allows the bank to get any such proposal approved by its board.
Madhu Kapur, the sister-in-law of Yes Bank managing director and chief executive officer Rana Kapoor, had last June filed a case against the bank and its CEO demanding the right to nominate directors on the bank board. Kapur is the widow of Yes Bank co-founder Ashok Kapur.
