Satyam case hearing put off till 20 Jan
Hyderabad: A Hyderabad court on Wednesday adjourned until 20 January the framing of charges against B. Ramalinga Raju, the founder of Satyam Computer Services Ltd, and others accused of involvement in the country’s biggest accounting fraud.
The framing of charges has been pending in the court of the additional chief metropolitan magistrate because defence lawyers urged the court to hand over documents relating to a supplementary chargesheet after its physical verification with original documents.
The court handed over the documents on 23 December to all the accused in the case except Raju, who is being treated for Hepatitis-C at a hospital in Hyderabad.
When the case came up on Wednesday, the defence counsel informed the court that Raju had been unable to receive the documents as he was still in hospital.
Following the defence counsel’s contention, the magistrate directed Raju’s counsel to receive the documents on behalf of his client and posted the case to 20 January. The court also extended the judicial remand of all the accused until the same day.
