Mumbai: Drug maker Piramal Healthcare on Thursday reported a consolidated net profit of Rs59.87 crore in the third quarter ended 31 December, 2008, while it had a net profit of Rs72.76 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal.
The total income of the firm rose to Rs832.59 crore during the quarter under review, from Rs724.88 crore in the same quarter a year-ago, Piramal Healthcare said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
It said the figures of Piramal Healthcare also includes the operations of Nicholas Piramal Consumer Products and NPIL Healthcare Pvt Ltd and hence are not comparable with the corresponding quarter last year.
On a standalone basis Piramal Healthcare reported a net profit of Rs38.67 crore for the quarter ended December 2008, while it had a net profit of Rs73.82 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal.
The standalone income from operations rose 20.92% to Rs584.47 crore, from Rs483.37 crore in the same period last fiscal.
Shares of Piramal Healthcare closed at Rs213.75, down 2.42% on the BSE index.
