Tata Steel’s February sales grow 47%

Mumbai: Tata Steel Ltd, India’s biggest producer, said February sales for the country increased 47% because of a rebound in demand.

Sales climbed to 584,000 tonnes from 397,000 tonnes a month earlier, the company said in an emailed statement on Friday. The company produced 466,000 tonnes of crude steel in the month, 12% more than a year earlier, while hot metal output rose 19% to 517,000 tonnes.
