Virgin Mobile launches GSM service in India
Bangalore: Virgin Mobile India, part of the Richard Branson-promoted Virgin Group Ltd, has launched its GSM service in India on Thursday. The new GSM service, much like Virgin’s CDMA service launched two years back, will ride on Tata Teleservices Ltd’ telecom network. The service has been launched in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala on Thursday and will go national in three months, said M.A. Madhusudan, chief executive officer, at a press conference.
