Cognizant appoints McKinsey partner to its board

Chennai: Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp. on Wednesday named Michael Patsalos-Fox, a senior partner at consulting firm McKinsey & Co., to its board of directors.

Patsalos-Fox has served on McKinsey’s operating committee and board for several years and since 2009 has been leading the strategic advisory’s new global data and software growth opportunities, Cognizant’s press release said.

The 59-year-old consultant, who will be the ninth member of Cognizant’s board, plans to retire from McKinsey in several months.

Besides president and chief executive officer Francisco D’Souza, and his predecessor, Lakshmi Narayanan, who serves as Cognizant’s vice chairman, Cognizant’s board now has seven independent directors including Patsalos-Fox.
