Fertilizer minister to hold review meeting on revival of sick PSUs on Wednesday
Sick units will be revived by nominated public sector companies
New Delhi: Fertilizers minister Ananth Kumar will hold a review meeting on Wednesday to discuss the revival of three sick units of the state-owned Fertilizer Corp. of India Ltd (FCIL), said a senior ministry official who did not wish to be named.
The sick units will be revived by nominated public sector companies: the Talcher unit in Odisha by Coal India Ltd and Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Ltd; the Sindri unit in Jharkhand by Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL); and the Ramagundam unit in Andhra Pradesh by Engineers India Ltd and National Fertilizers Ltd.
Senior officials from the major nominated companies are expected to attend the meeting to discuss the project’s progress and issues constraining the revival plans.
