Poshtick raises $450,000 from two HNIs

New Delhi: Hygeia Wellness Pvt. Ltd-owned health and wellness start-up Poshtick raised $450,000 from two high net worth individuals (HNIs) based out of Noida—Bhavya Sharma and Amit Nagar, the company said in a statement on Saturday.
Poshtick will use the funds for product development, team expansion and establishing a supply chain.
“People including myself are now increasingly health conscious, but it’s extremely difficult for them to find healthy mid-meal snacking options. The size for health and wellness industry is Rs22,500 crore , and when we found Poshtick’s founders making a mark in this industry, we decided to back them,” said Bhavya Sharma in a statement.
Poshtick was founded in February by Pranav Sharma and Kritik Thakur.
“Poshtick intends to be a one-stop shop for all ‘health and wellness’ needs. Our aim is to create pocket-friendly healthy snack options and make them assessable and available for the masses . Also, we are giving a lot of emphasis on consumer education and want to create a community of educated consumers,” said Pranav Sharma, founder and chief executive officer, Poshtick.
Working with nutritionists and chefs to create healthy meals, the company plans to build its online presence through the website and a mobile application which it expects to launch by 2017. Additionally, Poshtick is also eyeing a brick-and-mortar retail presence in cities such as Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai.
Other start-ups providing a variety of similar healthy meals and snacks include Fab Box (Healthy Karma Foods Pvt. Ltd), Brown Tree Retail Pvt. Ltd and Snackexperts (Chloroplast Foods Pvt. Ltd) among others.
