Jindal Power signs MoU with Jharkhand for project

Mumbai: Jindal Steel and Power said on 4 June it has signed an agreement with the Jharkhand government for setting up a power project in the state at an estimated cost of Rs11,880 crore.
Jindal Power has entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Jharkhand government for setting up 2,640 MW (4X660MW) power project in the state at an investment of Rs11,680 crore, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
As per the understanding, the state government would provide all necessary assistance, including providing state-level clearances, selecting coal blocks within the state and recommending Centre for allocation of coal blocks, among others.
Shares of the firm were trading at Rs2,210, down 1.83% in the afternoon on BSE.
