BackIndiGo seen placing order for 200-250 more aircraft
A new report by Capa says IndiGo's consistent profitability may lead to the company's IPO in 2015 fiscal

Mumbai: IndiGo, India’s largest airline by passengers carried, is negotiating with aircraft makers to place an order for 200-250 aircraft, on top of the 191 aircraft it currently expects to be delivered.
“IndiGo’s consistent profitability may signal that the time is coming to leverage the carrier’s success story through an IPO (initial public offer) in financial year 2015. Undoubtedly, the country’s most successful airline is IndiGo, which is reportedly in negotiation for another 200-250 aircraft order," said a new report released by consulting firm Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation, or Capa, on Thursday.
Rival low-fare airline GoAir is also looking at another aircraft order to meet growth requirements apart from its order to buy 72 Airbus A320neo planes.
The Capa report also said that SpiceJet Ltd has confirmed an order for 42 Boeing B737 MAX aircraft in order to secure slots for the period beyond 2016. Mint could not immediately contact IndiGo executives for a comment on Capa’s report.
