Mumbai: The $1.9 billion (Rs7,486 crore), US-based information and technology services provider to the global financial community, Thomson Financial, has formalized a tie-up with the New Delhi-based India Venture Capital Association (IVCA) with a view to tracking private equity and venture capital investment and fund-raising activity in India more comprehensively.
The tie-up gives Thomson Financial an opportunity to tap into IVCA’s 130-member firms and bring out country reports on private equity activity here, said a Thomson press release.
‘New runway at Delhi will be ready by June’
New Delhi: The new runway at the Delhi airport will be ready to host commercial flights by June next year for which the airport operator has already started co-coordinating with the air traffic control to streamline operations, Delhi International Airport Ltd’s chief development officer I.K. Rao said on Monday. The new runway is likely to ease traffic from the already congested main airport.

Ranbaxy gets US nod to sell hypertension drug
New Delhi: Pharmaceuticals firm Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd has received tentative approval to sell hypertension drug, Valsartan tablets, a medicine sold by Novartis AG in the US under the Diovan brand with revenues of $1.3 billion (Rs5,135 crore). The drug will give a six-month market monopoly to Ranbaxy for being the first non-patented drug maker to file for the drug.

Padukone may endorse Kingfisher Airlines
Mumbai: The premium airline promoted by billionaire Vijay Mallya, Kingfisher Airlines Ltd, may bring 21-year-old model-turned-actor Deepika Padukone, daughter of former World badminton champion Prakash Padukone, as its brand ambassador. An announcement regarding this is expected by this evening. “Deepika is the symbol of youth and vibrancy. With her new movie with Shahrukh Khan due for release in one- and-a-half weeks, the Kingfisher Airlines brand will get more mileage,” said a Kingfisher Airlines executive on condition of anonymity. He declined to divulge the contract details and endorsement fee.
