ABB India bags ₹93cr order in Jordan

New Delhi: Engineering firm ABB India today said it has received a ₹ 93.3 crore order from Germany-based KHD Humboldt Wedag GmbH to provide a turnkey electrics and automation solution to a cement plant in Jordan.
The 5,000 TPD (tonnes per day) capacity greenfield plant is being set up by Al Katrana Cement Company LLC, a group entity of Saudi Arabia-based Arabian Cement Co. The project is expected to be completed by mid-2009.
“ABB’s proven power and automation technologies will help bring significant energy efficiency, facilitate productivity and sustain quality standards at the plant," ABB India Country Manager Biplab Majumder said in a release.
The project would encompass design, engineering, supply, erection and commissioning of the complete electrics and automation systems.
ABB would also provide control and automation for the Robot Lab at the plant, being established to enable sample analysis for quality improvement, it said.
“We have worked closely with the customer as a single window, turnkey solution partner. Our focus on providing value added user-friendly technologies like lab automation including robots and expert optimiser will go a long way in increasing operational efficiency and productivity of the plant, ABB India Head (Process Automation) N Ravi added.
