Jindal Steel profit rises on electricity demand
Mumbai:Jindal Steel and Power Ltd reported that its first quarter profit at least doubled on higher electricity demand and said it would offer five free shares for each held. Net income rose to Rs988 crore in the three months ended 30 June from Rs444 crore a year earlier, it said on Wednesday in a Bombay Stock Exchange statement. Sales rose 27% to Rs2,760 crore.
