Viacom18 plans to roll out electronic goods

New Delhi: Viacom18 Media Pvt Ltd, the broadcaster that operates the children’s channel Nick, is planning to roll out a range of electronic goods and appliances, including a toaster that will pop out toasts with cartoon figures, targeting children in the age group of 4-14 years.
The consumer products division of Viacom18, which looks after the company’s licensing and merchandise deals, is getting ready to launch a range of electronic products such as MP3 players, digital photo frames, speakers and sandwich makers, based on cartoon characters from Nick. The products will be brought to India in association with the Hong Kong based Linmark Group, Viacom’s international sourcing agency for its licensed consumer products. “We are in the process of finalising the partners in India and should come out with products around Dora, SpongeBob SquarePants and Ninja Hattori by the second quarter of the calendar year,” Sandeep Dahiya, vice-president, consumer products , Viacom 18, said.
