Seoul: The delay notwithstanding in giving the go ahead for the Posco project, there is no signal of discomfort from the South Korean government as yet, said a person familiar with the developments.

The same official, who did not wish to be identified, said, “There is no signal from the South Korean government that there is any effort to drop the Posco project. There is a common desire on both sides to see the project through. Every effort is being made by all stakeholders.

At present the Posco project, which was to come up in Orissa, is under scrutiny for the processes followed for acquisition of land for the project.

The same official also clarified that the matter is unlikely to come up during prime minister Manmohan Singh’s three day trip to Seoul to attend the G-20 confabulations.
