New Delhi: Bharti Airtel Ltd, India’s top mobile operator, will spend $3.4 billion in capex in fiscal year 2008-09, Chief Financial Officer Sarvjit Dhillon has said.
Bharti posted a better-than-expected 37% rise in quarterly net profit as it added more users in the world’s fastest growing mobile market.
Bharti, in which Southeast Asia’s top phone firm, SingTel, owns more than 30%, said net profit rose to Rs18.53 billion ($461 million) in its fiscal fourth-quarter ended March from Rs13.53 billion a year earlier.
