Mumbai: State-run Vijaya Bank reported a 23.73% growth in net profit at Rs156.99 crore for the third quarter ended 31 December 2008.
The company had a net profit of Rs126.88 crore in the December quarter of FY’08, Vijaya Bank said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The total income rose 43.52% to Rs1,634.98 crore for the quarter under review, from Rs1,139.19 crore in the same period last fiscal.
For the nine months ended December 2008, the state-run lender reported a net profit of Rs160.23 crore, down 53.35% over the year-ago period.
The total income, during the nine-month period to December-end, climbed 37% to Rs4,314.35 crore.
Shares of Vijaya Bank were trading at Rs29.35, down 4.08% in the afternoon trade on the BSE.
