Hero MotoCorp appoints Ashok Bhasin as head of sales, marketing
Bhasin joins from Reckitt Benckiser where he was heading general manager as part of their Africa operations
Mumbai: Hero MotoCorp Ltd, India’s largest two-wheeler maker on Tuesday appointed Ashok Bhasin as head of sales, marketing and customer care for India operations. Bhasin will report to Pawan Kant Munjal, vice chairman, managing director and chief executive and will be part of Hero Motocorp‘s leadership team, the company informed stock exchanges.
Bhasin joins from Reckitt Benckiser where he was heading general manager, central Africa and managing director, RB Nigeria. Earlier, he was with Whirlpool Corp. as global director.
An MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Delhi, Bhasin has had extensive experience in building and turning around business performance on growth, profitability and market share across geographies, categories and business cycles, the company said in a statement.
Hero MotoCorp recently hired Markus Braunsperger as chief technology officer from BMW, Germany and Markus Feichtner from Austria’s AVL to head its new engines division. Hero also appointed Rajat Bhargava from McKinsey & Co. to head its corporate strategy and performance transformation function, and Sanjay Jorapur from Honeywell, as the chief human resources officer.
The position of sales and marketing head at the maker of Splendor and Passion brands has been vacant since June 2014 when Anil Dua, senior vice president for the function resigned.
