New Delhi: In a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange, real estate developer Unitech Ltd said on Wednesday that the company’s subsidiary has applied to the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) for issuance of licences for international long distance (ILD) services and national long distance (NLD) services.

Zee to relaunch Hindi news channel
Mumbai: In a slightly different approach, 48 channels from the Zee bouquet of channels, including 18 that beam overseas, will show Zee News, the 24-hour Hindi news channel that is reincarnating with a strong focus on hard news, for four minutes starting 9.56pm on Thursday.

Google launches YouTube site for India
New Delhi: Internet giant Google Inc. on Wednesday launched a local site of its video-sharing service YouTube for Indian users. www.youtube.co.in, will promote India-specific video content, and will have a clear and strong focus.
“Over 50% of YouTube users are outside the US, and in the last year, India has rapidly moved from being among our top 30 countries to our top 15. My vision for India is to get the grassroot level teachers film their classroom content and upload it on the site,” said Sakina Arsiwala, international manager for YouTube.
