Hyundai Motor opens 300th dealership, targets expansion

New Delhi: Hyundai Motor India Ltd on Thursday opened its 300th dealership at Karur in Tamil Nadu and plans to add another 20 before December-end, a company official said.
The firm has an additional network of 112 sales outlets along with 130 Hyundai Advantage dealers which is the company’s pre-owned car business. The company also plans to increase sales network strength to 610 by the end of this year and to add another 17 workshops to the existing network of 608.
“With a growing customer base and increase in our product portfolio we need to access more and more customers and to achieve this we set up an aggressive programme to increase our sales and service network," said Hyundai Motor India, managing director and chief executive officer H. W. Park.
The firm crossed the 1 million car production milestone in 2006 and the 3 million mark in 2010 behind market leader Maruti Suzuki.
