Prasad Thrikutam, global head of strategic sales, marketing and alliances at Infosys Ltd, has resigned from the company, joining an ever-growing list of top-level executives who have left since founder and chairman N.R. Narayana Murthy’s return to the Bangalore-based firm.

India’s second largest software services exporter Infosys, which has witnessed more than a dozen top-level exits over the past 12 months, confirmed the development, but did not offer any reason for his departure. Thrikutam’s portfolio of responsibilities will be handled by president and board member U.B. Pravin Rao in the interim, an Infosys spokeswoman said.

Thrikutam’s exit comes exactly a week after the resignation of company president B.G. Srinivas, who was seen as one of the strongest potential internal successors to co-founder S.D. Shibulal. Srinivas’s exit shocked investors and the company’s stock tanked nearly 8% the following day.

The exodus of top managers, which included potential successors to co-founder and current chief executive Shibulal, has raised concerns among investors and customers alike who are now starting to question whether Murthy’s return to the company has caused more damage than good to the firm, once regarded as the bellwether for India’s $118-billion information technology industry.

Since Murthy’s comeback an entire generation of young leaders, who had been handpicked by him in the first place and were seen as potential future CEOs, have left the company, raising questions about the future of internal leaders in the company.

Prior to his departure, Thrikutam was one of the highest paid executives at Infosys and was once even a member of the executive council—the company’s highest decision making body till it was dissolved in April this year. Over the course of 19-year career at Infosys, Thrikutam has also served as the global head of the company’s energy, utilities and communications and services businesses.
