Apollo tyres Q2 net down by 73%

Mumbai: Apollo Tyres said it has reported a net profit of Rs15.1 crore in the quarter ended 30 September, a decline of 73.7% compared with the same quarter a year ago.
The company had reported a net profit of Rs57.6 crore in the same period, Apollo Tyres said in a filing to Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
In terms of the net sales, it has registered a decline of 16.3% in the second quarter of current fiscal at Rs1,262.1 crore compared with Rs1,084.8 crore in the corresponding period last year.
“The company’s plant at Perambra was closed for 18 days from 16 August to 2 September, 2008 on account of lockout due to labour problems,” Apollo Tyres said.
