New Delhi: In one of the worst instances of industrial violence in recent times, LK Chowdhury, the MD-and-CEO of the India unit of the Italian auto parts unit was lynched to death by a 200-strong armed mob of dismissed workers, which had barged into the company premises and indulged in large-scale violence on Monday.
An outraged India Inc. on Tuesday condemned the killing stating such incidents will damage the country’s image among global investors.

Echoing the sentiment, ASSOCHAM President Sajjan Jindal said the UP administration needs to take stringent action against those who have committed the gruesome act to restore confidence of investors in the state.
"The killing has sent out wrong signals, consequences of which would have to be suffered by the state," he said.
The lynching has put the spotlight on the law and order situation in Greater Noida. Even in the past, industrialists have protested the government’s inability to maintain law and order in the area.
