Jubilant FoodWorks Q3 net profit up 4.3% to Rs35.04 crore
Revenue rose 21.1% to Rs555.86 crore in the quarter from Rs458.95 crore in the year-ago period
New Delhi: Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd (JFL), which operates restaurant chains Domino’s Pizza and Dunkin’ Donuts, said third quarter profit rose 4.3% to ₹ 35.04 crore on better consumer demand and price increases.
Revenue rose 21.1% to ₹ 555.86 crore in the quarter ended 31 December 2014 from ₹ 458.95 crore in the year-ago period, the company said in a filing to BSE on Thursday.
Festivities and price increase during the quarter helped boost overall revenue growth.
“In Q3 FY15, we witnessed a healthy growth in our topline and profitability," added Ajay Kaul, chief executive officer, at Jubilant FoodWorks. “We were successful in restoring our SSG growth for Domino’s business...led by customer centric propositions and intensified marketing efforts," he added.
Improvement in revenues is representing a change in business momentum, the company said in a media statement.
Same-store sales (SSS) growth, a measure of sales at stores open for at least a year, slowed to 1.9% from 2.6% in the year-ago period.
Ebitda, or earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, for the quarter increased by 7.9% to ₹ 72.7 crore from ₹ 67.4 crore in the year earlier.
During the quarter, the company opened 41 new restaurants, taking the total number of Domino’s outlets to 844 in 185 cities in the country. The company now operates 50 Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in India.
Kaul added that, disciplined approach to brand building and innovation will play a key role in our future progress ...“We will strengthen JFL’s capabilities and unlock new opportunities that will better align us to achieve our future goals," he added.
