New Delhi: The Passat CC, Volkswagen’s first four-door coupe, was unveiled at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show. The car features innovative assistance and driving dynamics systems such as ‘Lane Assist’ and the ‘Dynamic Drive Control’ (DCC) system, both firsts in automotive engineering.

The new ‘Lane Assist’ is a system which has the capability of assisting the driver with a corrective steering intervention that helps to keep the car in its lane. The ‘Dynamic Drive Control’ electronic. stability control system enables the chassis to continually adapt to roadway conditions thanks to an electrically adjustable suspension as well as a power steering system controlled through “Normal”, “Sport” or “Comfort” programmes.

The Passat CC, built in Germany, will be introduced in Europe in the second quarter of 2008, followed by the USA, Canada and Japan in the fourth.
