L&T consortium bags orders worth Rs3,816 cr

New Delhi: Larsen and Toubro Limited in consortium with Global technology partners has secured EPC orders aggregating Rs3,816 crore from various players in the metals industry.
The company in consortium with Outotec, GmbH of Germany for Pellet plant and Paul Wurth, Italia for Blast Furnace has bagged EPC orders worth Rs2,545 crore from Tata Steel for a pellet plant and blast furnace at Jamshedpur.
L&T-Outotec consortium has also bagged Rs753 crore order on EPC basis for 360 SqM sinter plant, scheduled for commissioning in 30 months for SAIL-RSP expansion. L&T’s portion is valued at Rs588 crore.
With this order, L&T-Outotec is concurrently executing six sinter plants on EPC basis in India.
The engineering and construction company has also bagged a repeat order from Hindustan Zinc for 2.1 Lakh TPA leaching, purification and zinc electrolysis plant on EPC basis, valued at Rs518 crore, scheduled for commissioning in 17 months.
