Welspun bags orders worth Rs3,000 cr

New Delhi: Leading pipe manufacturer Welspun Gujarat Stahl Rohren has bagged orders worth Rs3,000 crore from Indian as well as overseas companies.
“The new orders takes the order book of the company to Rs7,700 crore during the first quarter of the current fiscal year,” a company release said.
The company, however, did not disclose names of companies from which it has secured orders.
“These orders mark a strong beginning and reinstates Welspun’s credibility as a company which strives for engineering excellence,” Welspun Vice-Chairman and Managing Director B K Goenka said.
“The overseas orders during the first quarter are primarily from diversified markets including the American continent,” the release added.
The company, a subsidiary of the Welspun Group, had recently announced commissioning of its new plate mill with a capacity of 1.5 million tons.
