Kolkata: German airline Lufthansa is keen on strengthening frequency of its passenger flights from Kolkata to Frankfurt following adequate response from passengers in this eastern metropolis, member of the executive board of the German carrier Stefan H Lauer said here on 14 March.
After meeting the West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharjee at the state secretariat, Lauer told reporters that they were satisfied with the performance of their operation between Kolkata and Frankfurt for the last three months.
“All the outgoing flights of the airline from the city are full. We are now looking for increasing frequency of this thrice-a-week flight to a daily flight,” he said.
Lauer said Lufthansa had already taken up the matter with the Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel and Union Tourism Minister Ambika Soni for necessary traffic rights to increase frequency.
During the meeting with the chief minister, Lauer apprised him of the detailed performance of the airline’s operation from the metropolis and sought his intervention for increasing frequency of their flight.
