New Delhi: Telecom equipment maker Alcatel-Lucent Wednesday announced the appointment of Arun Seth as the chairman of its India operations.

In this role, Seth will work closely with Rajeev Singh-Molares, president-APAC on overall APAC and India strategy, Alcatel-Lucent said in a statement.

He will also advise Munish Seth, president and managing director, Alcatel-Lucent India to steward the India region to consistent value creation over short, medium and long term, it added.

Seth, who is also the non-executive chairman of BT India, will continue in that current role as well.

Seth has been associated with BT since 1995, when he set up BT’s first India office. Before BT, Seth has held several senior leadership roles at the UB Group and HCL.

Apart from his corporate roles, he holds advisory positions across a number of organisations like the executive committee of Nasscom, Member of Advisory Board at TERI, board of governor’s for Helpage India, among others.

“Arun brings us over 30 years of diverse business experience. I look forward for his guidance in helping Alcatel-Lucent be a transformative player in the converging IT and Telecom industry in India," Rajeev Singh-Molares said.
